Winter Events

The Lyme Community Center will be open for ongoing activities this winter.  We hope to make the long winter a little friendlier for the people of our community. 

The Office for the Aging free lunches have been a lot of fun. We have done everything from Tai Chi to Chair Yoga Bingo! We have particularly enjoyed listening to Julia Gosier’s stories about our communities as well as learning sign language.  Eating a great meal is just an extra benefit! To register or for more information, contact Jim Morrow at (315) 405-5074 or email j25morrow@gmail.com. Upcoming meals (subject to change) are:

Yoga with Leah continues on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9 AM. You can reach Leah at (719)659-2155 to sign up before coming to class the first time. During winter, she only teaches if she has three people attending. All classes are $10.

Maria’s 10 AM Wednesday Pilates classes will not be held during the winter.  Look for more information about when she will begin again in the next Lyme Light. contact Maria at (315)778-3233 or mrosewhite@yahoo.com.  All classes are $10.

The dance studio is a happy place again!  Cindy Bable started dance classes in October.  Ballet, tap, and jazz/hip-hop classes are Mondays at 3:45 for K-2ndgrade and 5:15 for grades 3 and up.  Contact fabfeet2@yahoo.com for more information.

​Registration for Kids Club for the November and December sessions is now open.  This nature, science, and art program is offered to Lyme residents in 
Kindergarten-4th grade.  Program dates are Nov. 12, Dec. 3, and Dec. 17;  1:00 – 3:00 PM.  Contact Ms. Heisler at smartypantstutoring13622@gmail.com for more information and registration.

Winter Boot Camp will be held Feb. 21,22, and 23.   1st/2nd graders will meet from 10:30-12:00; 3rd/4th graders will meet from 1:00-2:30. Math and Reading skills will be strengthened in a fun, Contact Ms. Heisler at smartypantstutoring13622@gmail.com for more information and registration.

A Beauty Brunch Bunch will meet January 11, 10:00 AM at the LCC! Julie Grieco and Susan Tontarski will share techniques and do mini makeovers for volunteers.  This is a totally free class with nothing to purchase.  Brunch will be provided by Beth so please let LCCPrograms know you are coming and be prepared for some southern delicacies! Susan asks that you wear your own foundation.  If you have eyeliner or mascara, bring them too.  

Lunch Bunchers will also meet at the Hacienda Restaurant, 821 Arsenal Street in Watertown February 7 at 11:30 AM.  We hope to see you there!

Game nights (Bunco) are Third Thursdays, Jan. 19 and Feb.16 at 6:30 (BYOB – adults only).   Please join us for a great time!
