Mindfulness and Mindfulness Meditation

$25 per person. There are two opportunities to take this 1 hour Zoom Class.

Learn about mindfulness and Mindfulness Meditation and how these practices can help with anxiety and calming your racing mind.

Scarecrow Building Contest

Build a scarecrow and enter your creation into the Lyme Community Foundation Scarecrow Building Contest.

Children ages 3-12 can enter the “Just Planted” competition class and those ages 13 and up are eligible for the “Ready for Picking” class.

Scarecrows must be no larger than 4 feet high and be made using items found at home.

Bring your completed scarecrow to Copley House on September 26, between 10 AM and Noon for display and judging. 

Prize ribbons go to winners in each of the classes in 3 categories, Most Classic Scarecrow, Most Creative Scarecrow and Best Use of Found Materials.

Scarecrows will be displayed at Copley House through October 3 when they can be picked up between 10 AM and Noon.

How to Build a Storybook: Theater class for Children Ages 5-7.

Tuesdays, (October 6th & 13th, 4:30-5:30)

$25 per student,

2 students minimum to hold this class.

In this two-consecutive Tuesday online Zoom class children learn how we create, tell & share stories with an emphasis on theatrical techniques - we will examine some of our favorite, most classic stories and adapt them to interactive “performance” 

Buy one seat purchase for the two classes.

Youth Theater Classes

 

Ages 7-10: Never Never Land

Thursdays, (October 8th & 15th, 6:30-7:30)

$25 per student, 2 students minimum to hold class.

Students will examine & perform a short adaptation of Peter Pan. Sign Up ->

 

Ages 10-12: Never Never Land

Tuesdays, (October  20th & 27th, 6:30-7:30)

$25 per student, 2 students minimum to hold  class.

Students will examine & perform a short adaptation of Peter Pan, more complex vocabulary & theatrical techniques for older students.

Adult Seminar

Live Theater in the Age of COVID: 

Adapt & Overcome

Thursday, October 22, 6:30-8:00) 

$25 per attendee

A minimum of 2 attendees is needed to hold this seminar.

The instructor, Ashley DeMar, will lead a discussion on the history of theater adapting through periods of uncertainty & turmoil, culminating in the role of theater and performance in the COVID age, with emphasis on what it means to be “live”.

Pumpkin Carving Contest

October 24 from 1 to 3 PM

Participants register then decorate or carve a pumpkin which must be brought to Copley House on the day of the event by 2:30 PM.  Contest Classes include Age 3-5, Age 6-8, Age 9-12, Teen 13 - 17, and Adult 18 and up. Categories in each class include Scariest, Prettiest and Funniest. Refreshments and Children's Games will be offered at this free event.  Prizes Awarded. once Judging is completed.
Complimentary pumpkins provided to those who register.
